GOALS for SOUTH AFRICA is a powerful alliance of million peoples around the world, and stands for their solidarity with the more than five million citizens of South Africa who have been infected with HIV. Acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) is not only one of South Africa’s biggest challenges, it is also the country’s leading cause of death.

GOALS for SOUTH AFRICA is a global, private initiative to raise money and awareness about HIV. The intiative wants to reach as many people as possible with its information campaign about the AIDS situation in South Africa and encourage them make a monetary contribution toward alleviating the problem.

First and foremost, the GOALS for SOUTH AFRICA campaign sees itself as a powerful communication channel for the participating assistance agencies. In addition to extensive measures to introduce the GOALS for SOUTH AFRICA project to a wide global audience, coverage in domestic and international media will constitute a major component of the public relations campaign.

One important aspect: Transparency and responsible use of donations are very important to us, so contributions can only be made directly to the respective assistance agencies. GOALS for SOUTH AFRICA itself does not accept donations. 

GOALS for SOUTH AFRICA bildet eine starke Allianz von Millionen Menschen weltweit und repräsentiert die Verbunden- heit mit über 5 Millionen HIV-infizierten Menschen aus Südafrika. Die Immunschwäche Aids ist nicht nur eines der größten Probleme des Landes sondern Todesursache Nummer Eins.

Ziel der globalen privatinitiierten HIV-Aufklärungs- und Spendenkampagne GOALS for SOUTH AFRICA ist es, möglichst viele Menschen weltweit für die AIDS-Problematik in Südafrika zu sensibilisieren und zahlreich zum Spenden zu motivieren. Wir denken, dass bei weit über 5 Millionen statistisch belegten HIV-Infizierten - unabhängig von den Bemühungen und der Aidspolitik der Regierung Süd Afrikas - eine zusätzliche unterstützende Aufklärungsarbeit von neutralen Instanzen erfolgen sollte.

Hierbei versteht sich GOALS for SOUTH AFRICA in erster Linie als ein starker und zusätzlicher kommunikativer Arm aller teilnehmenden Hilfsorganisationen. Neben eigenen umfang- reichen Maßnahmen zur Kommunikation und Bekanntmachung des Projektes GOALS for SOUTH AFRICA ist die redaktionelle Berichterstattung der nationalen sowie internationalen Medien ein wichtiger und integraler Bestandteil des Kommunikations- konzeptes.

Da uns ein transparenter und verantwortungsvoller Umgang mit eingehenden Spendengeldern natürlich sehr am Herzen liegt, können Spenden ausschließlich über die Spendenplattformen der Hilfsorganisationen getätigt werden. GOALS for SOUTH AFRICA selbst verfügt über kein eigenes Spendenkonto.
